Ddongbbang (똥빵) literally means "poop bread" in Korean. Believe it or not, it is shaped like human feces. But don’t worry, it's cute! The unusual snack is filled with red bean paste and walnuts and originated in Seoul's Insa-dong district.
I bought three pieces at an Insa-dong bakery. They're so cute, right? |
This might sound crazy but honestly, I love ddongbbang because it's cute and delicious. One can buy it for KRW 1,000 around the main entrance to Ssamziegil Shopping Center.
Ssamziegil Shopping Center is in Insa-dong, Seoul. |
Ddongbbang is becoming a popular street food. “Poop bread is quite popular in Korea, especially among Korean youth,” said Park Nark Jong, former director of the Korean Cultural Center in Vietnam.
Korean restaurants are all over the world, including Vietnam, but they don’t sell poop bread. I can only get it in Korea. |
Just thinking about sweet and tasty poop bread makes me hungry. I'm sure you'll feel the same way if you try it. Just don’t think too much about it. Give it a try and it will rock your world!
